Comparison for dietitians looking for a Nutrium alternative

PlateSight team · Last updated: Wednesday, October 7, 2026

Nutrium is a widely used dietitian software in Europe. Dietitians looking for an alternative usually ask about the price, whether it works in their own language, or how easily clients can log their meals. In this article we compared Nutrium and PlateSight using only verifiable information. The Nutrium information was taken in October 2026 from the company's own pricing page and help center; it may have changed, so check the current information before you decide.

Price

On Nutrium's official pricing page as of October 2026 there were two plans: the plan for up to 10 active clients was €15 a month with annual payment and €25 with monthly payment; the unlimited clients plan was €25 a month with annual payment and €39 with monthly payment. The page showed these prices as discounted for the first subscription period, next to higher struck-through list prices. A 14-day free trial was offered.

In PlateSight the free plan covers up to 3 clients and has no time limit. Paid plans start at €9 a month; a card subscription renews until you cancel it, and you can cancel at any time. You can see the current plans in the pricing section of the dietitian page.

Language support

According to Nutrium's help center, the software and the app are available in Portuguese (European and Brazilian), Spanish, English, French, Italian and German. PlateSight's dietitian panel and client app work in 33 European languages, including Turkish; the app opens in the phone's language and food names also appear in that language. This difference may matter if your clients speak a language outside these six.

The client's meal logging

In Nutrium the client can mark a meal as “eaten as planned” according to the plan or enter it by hand by searching for foods; a photo can be attached, but we did not find a feature in the help center that automatically analyzes calories from a photo. This is PlateSight's main difference: the client takes a photo of the meal, and the AI estimates the foods, grams, calories and macros. The client can also log by typing, and mark a meal in the plan as “Ate it” with one tap. We explained how analysis from a photo works in this article.

Where Nutrium stands out

For a fair comparison, this must also be said: Nutrium is a comprehensive product that has been on the market for a long time. It has built-in food databases, detailed meal planning tools and a client app for both iOS and Android. PlateSight's client app also works on both iPhone and Android.

Other features in PlateSight

  • Session notes in ADIME, SOAP, DAP and BIRP formats that can be shared with the client
  • Intake forms prepared with your own questions
  • Waist, hip, chest, arm and thigh measurements entered by the client
  • An appointment calendar that clients can subscribe to in their Google and Apple calendars
  • The dietitian can correct the client's meal items and leave notes on a meal
  • An option to hide calories and macros in the client's app

Which one suits you?

If you want software with built-in food databases that has been used for many years, Nutrium is a strong option. If you want your clients to log their meals with photos and little effort, work in a language Nutrium does not support, or want to start at a lower cost, you can try PlateSight on the free plan. We have gathered what to look for in client tracking software in a separate article.
